Summer vacation
October 21, 2007
In this summer vacation, I visited a lot of places, and I had very worthwhile times there. The most memorable event was taking a trip to Yokohama. It is my usual to go to there to meet my sister, an elementary school teacher, every long vacation. There, I usually helps her jobs and the housework on weekdays, and on weekends, we go out to various kind of places.
In this time, I accompanied with her workplace and helped a general class cleaning. I was really excited at the beginning because I felt a longing for my schooldays. And it is the first time to stay in school until 10 pm, certainly nobody there. I was afraid of dark school, for example an anatomical model of the science room, a portrait of the art room, and a mirror of the rest room. But I enjoyed that situation such as the old Japanese horror movie “A ghost story of school”. Anyway, I was grad to know what her job. Now I am not certain about my future, and I don’t know what kind of jobs I want to be. So I took her into my confidence, and she gave me some valuable advice. Then we could talk deeply for the first time. Also I realize that she is a teacher actually. It was my memorable time.
A few days later, I went to Ghibli Museum, Mitaka in Tokyo alone. I like Hayao Miyazaki’s animation movie very much, so I was longing for visiting there. But, Tokyo is strange place for me, and it takes at least one and a half hour to reach there from my sister’s house in Yokohama. I was sure that I will be lost. Before leaving home, I found a phrase “Let be lost, together” in its homepage, and I felt chill of fear. That premonition was come true, I was lost in crowded city alone. I mistook to ride a bus, I began to cry any longer. Fortunately, the bus went around the residential areas and went back to start point. So I needed not to be lost any more! I asked a stranger the way to museum, and then I arrived at there at least.
In there, I was overwhelmed by exterior of its unique building which is united with nature. Exactly it is Ghibli world! There were three main features. One is a room “The beginning of moving”. It was explaining how drawings become a movie mechanically so easily because the most part of visitor is children. I was impressed its antiquity mechanic skills. Second is a small theater that puts a short movie on the screen. Its short movie was unreleased to the public, so we can only watch visiting here. I was really lucked. I became a great fan of Hayao Miyazaki’s movie. Third is a roof garden. There was a world of Laputa: The Castle in the Sky. The robot in its screen called “demon’s bone” was standing in dense green. I couldn’t explain it well. But I felt strong life force because it’s contrast nature green and inorganic iron robot. I really like its room and museum. If I go to Yokohama again, I will make sure to visit there!
On August 12th, I drove to my countryside Ehime with my family. I got my driver’s license in the middle of July. But I didn’t practice driving with my family car. So my first full-dress driving after getting a license was on the highway. At first, I didn’t have room to enjoy. But closing to the sea, I really enjoyed driving gradually. In Ehime, I went to hot spring everyday. Its hot spa’s plant is standing slantingly with my grandparent’s house. I like hot spa and bedrock spa, massage, so it’s really convenience for me. Now, when I went back to Ehime, it was rare to go sightseeing. But this time I drove to some places. First, I went to Uchiko there is the old Kabuki Theater. A row of houses and streets is antiquated and quiet. I like this town rather than crowded sightseeing places. Then I went to Pekoponn-Yokotyou near my house. There couch the lives of Syowa period like a movie set. I lived only 2 years in Syowa period, but I felt yearned. I was really enjoyed rediscovering my countryside and I had a good summer vacation.
My hometown
May 18, 2007
Today,I’ll introduce my hometown. Now I live in Kobe, since I moved from Kanagawa prefecture in 1997. So it’s not real hometown there, it’s not so well-known place for me. Therefore I would rather introduce my country. It’s Nagahama town in Ehime prefecture. When I was a child, I often went there and I did swimming and fishing in the sea, and walking in the mountain, and so no…with my cousins.
Last Golden-week, I went back to there for the Buddhist memorial service after long absence. Unfortunately, there were’nt my cousins here.We (my sister, brother, and dog) took a walk to the sea remaining our childrenhood, and hang around near my grandmother’s house. And then, she took us to her fild of eriobotryae, orange, and strawberry. We had big hearvest, and we ate it then and there!!It was very fresh and sweet.I love countryside!!!
